FAQs
Where can I find the videos?
On YouTube! You can head over to THIS PLAYLIST to see them.
What grades is campaign appropriate this for?
This campaign is appropriate for K-12 students. Each video contains a personal story from an author with a question posed at the end. After watching, teachers are able to extend the lesson into a discussion that’s suited for their students.
As a Kindergarten teacher who’s also taught adult learners, I’ve tried to purposefully design this campaign so that it can fit a variety of learners and age groups.
DISCLAIMER: Since this campaign is intended for many ages of learners, it will include authors of picture books (for grades K-5), chapter books (for grades 1-5), middle grade books (for grades 4-7), and young adult books (for grades 7-12). I will always include information about authors and their books in the details of each video. While the content of the videos will be appropriate for all ages, I want to make it clear that the authors’ books themselves may not be. Please double check this information, if this is important for you, your school district, and your learners.
Where can I find the schedule of authors?
Through the newsletter! (Signup Below) I will send out one email per month. It will have links to the previous month’s authors, as well as a schedule for upcoming videos.
You can also find this information on my website under this “For Teachers” tab. The schedule will be posted in January.
Who am I?
I’m Juliana Brandt, a Kindergarten teacher and author. I hold a Masters of Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and have taught for seven years. The past two years of teaching have been difficult, but very rewarding in how much I’ve learned about myself and my students in regards to the teaching profession. I’m hopeful this project can give both teachers and their students a moment to breathe and process
I also write Middle Grade fiction – books that are geared toward 8-12 year olds. My books are The Wolf of Cape Fen, A Wilder Magic, and the upcoming Monsters in the Mist. You’re welcome to find out more about my writing at julianalbrandt.com
What authors will be participating?
We have a variety of authors who are participating! They are all people who write Children’s Literature – Picture Books, Chapter Books, Middle Grade, and Young Adult.
The full schedule of authors will be posted in January through email and here, on my website.
It’s my hope that no matter what genre or category of book the author writes, their story will resonate with students.
When will videos post?
Two videos will be posted per week. I will post them on Wednesdays.
Will videos every disappear or go away?
No! Videos will stay up on YouTube indefinitely. Hopefully this makes it easier for teachers who are planning weekly lessons.
